Company: American Veterinary Group (AVG) & UrgentVet.
Referral: passing to the Company a resume or contact information which identifies the Candidate being presented by Individual for Employment.
Candidate: person Referred by Individual to Company for Employment.
Individual: person submitting Candidate for Referral to Company with the intention of Employment.
Employment: employment, engagement, or use of the Candidate by the Company on a permanent part-time or full-time basis. Locum or independent contractor work is not considered part of Employment and is not eligible for the referral bonus.
Referral Bonus: amount paid to Individual if Referral of Candidate results in Employment, and if Candidate was not already known to Company prior to Introduction.

Program Eligibility

- Company employees serving in a recruiting or scheduling capacity. This includes members of the Talent Relations and Scheduling teams, as well as employees who meet Candidates while working or volunteering at recruiting events on behalf of the Talent Relations and/or Scheduling teams;
- Director-level employees and above;
- Recruiting agencies and third-party vendors are not eligible for participation in this employee referral bonus program or out external referral bonus. Please contact recruiting@americanveterinarygroup.com if you are interested in partnering with us directly.
Internal employees of Company are not eligible to be referred by Individuals to other positions.
External Referral Eligibility
Individuals not employed by Company are eligible for External Veterinarian Referral Bonus (employees of the Company are eligible for Employee Referral Bonus). Exceptions to this include third-party recruiting agencies. Recruiting agencies and third-party vendors are not eligible for participation in this external referral bonus program. Internal employees of Company are not eligible to be referred by Individuals to other positions.
Relief DVM Referral Eligibility
Only current relief veterinarians within AVG/UrgentVet are eligible for bonus incentives. The referring relief veterinarian must have worked at least one shift with AVG and the referred relief veterinarian must work five shifts with AVG within 180 days of onboarding. Referral Program Guidelines
How to submit a referral
Visit the referral website, then complete the appropriate form by providing your Referral’s contact information, as well as information about yourself. The Referral form must be completed before the Candidate is interviewed for a role within AVG/UrgentVet, and the Referral must be a new contact who is not already known to AVG. You will receive a Referral Bonus payout if your Referral is hired and in good standing with AVG after 90 days of employment. See guidelines below for more information.

Guidelines
- All Referrals must be submitted via the online referral form at careers.americanveterinarygroup.com/referrals. Referrals that are emailed to the Company will not be honored.
- Referring Individuals must submit their Referral recommendation to the Company before the Candidate is contacted or identified as an applicant by the Company’s Talent Relations team. Referrals submitted after the Company has already contacted the Candidate will not qualify.
- Qualifying Referrals will be valid for six (6) months from the date of submission via the online referral form. If the same Candidate is referred by a different Individual within this period, credit for the referral will be given to the original Individual who first referred the Candidate.
- Both Individual and Candidate must consent to a formal Referral. Individual must obtain permission from Candidate prior to submitting a Referral to Company.
- The Referral Bonus does not apply for Candidates who are already in Company’s database (including meaningful two-way recruiter contact, interviews, offers, or contracts within the past six (6) months; have previously applied or have been a previous employee of Company; or who have been provided to Company through another source (agency, employee referral, job fair, etc.) within the past twenty-four (24) months. Exceptions to this rule include referrals for relief veterinarians who has been contracted by Talent Relations, but who have not worked a shift within the past 12 months.
- Family members of Company employees who are not eligible for the Employee Referral Bonus are also not eligible for the external Referral Bonus.
- Any Individual that successfully submits and receives more than ten (10) successful Referral Bonus payouts is then considered to be a third-party vendor and will need to agree upon third-party vendor terms with the Company.
- A Referral does not automatically qualify for bonus payment. Candidates must be hired to a full-time or regular part-time position.
- The Referral Bonus will be paid to the Individual after the successful completion of Candidate’s first 90 days with the Company. Candidate must be employed and in good standing with the Company at the time of the Referral Bonus payout. The Referral Bonus will be taxed in compliance with federal and state guidelines.
- Direct advertising of Company’s positions by Individual (e.g. posts on job boards, direct solicitation campaigns, etc.) is strictly prohibited; however, sharing posts via Individual’s professional and social networks (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) is encouraged to expand Company reach and share personal stories that may lead to Referrals.
- Only Candidates meeting essential qualifications for the position will be considered. All Candidates will undergo evaluation according to Company’s hiring policies and procedures.
- Hiring decisions are solely at the discretion of the Company, and all information related to these decisions will be kept strictly confidential.
- Disputes or interpretations of the Referral Bonus program will be handled by the Vice President of Talent Relations at Company. Referral Bonus payments will be made directly to the Individual by the Company.
- Individuals who believe they are due a Referral Bonus must inquire within 120 days of the Candidate’s start date with Company.
- The Referral Bonus Program may be revised or eliminated at the discretion of the Company. Please contact us at recruiting@americanveterinarygroup.com with any questions.
Referral Bonus Amounts
Employee Referrals
Employees may earn up to $10,000 per Veterinarian they refer to AVG:

- $10,000 bonus for full-time veterinarians (4+ days/week)
- $6,000 bonus for 3+ days/week
- $4,000 bonus for 2+ days/week
- $2,000 bonus for 1+ day/week
Employees may earn up to $500 per (non-DVM) Support Staff Employee that they refer to AVG:
- $500 bonus for full-time employees (4+ days/week)
- $300 bonus for 3+ days/week
- $200 bonus for 2+ days/week
- $100 bonus for 1+ day/week
External Referrals
External contacts may earn up to $10,000 per Veterinarian they refer to AVG:
- $10,000 bonus for full-time veterinarians (4+ days/week)
- $6,000 bonus for 3+ days/week
- $4,000 bonus for 2+ days/week
- $2,000 bonus for 1+ day/week

Relief DVM Referral Guidelines
Step 1
Any current relief veterinarian may refer another relief veterinarian to the Relief Staffing team by completing the referral form found here. The referring relief veterinarian must have worked at least one shift with American Veterinary Group to be eligible for this bonus. Please note that this referral bonus is only eligible for current relief veterinarians within AVG/UrgentVet.
Step 2
The referred relief veterinarian must work at least five shifts with American Veterinary Group within 180 days of completing their relief veterinarian onboarding paperwork with American Veterinary Group.
Step 3
The referring relief veterinarian is eligible for a $500 bonus for each relief veterinarian referral that completes at least five shifts with American Veterinary Group within their (the referred veterinarian’s) first 180 days.
Step 4
To ensure that the referring veterinarian receives their bonus, the referring relief veterinarian must submit an invoice to avg_invoicecapture@concursolutions.com after their referral works at least 5 shifts in their first 180 days.
