As a hands-on operator of hospitals, we know that people make the difference between a good practice and a great practice.
We own & operate over 50 veterinary practices throughout the Southern United States, including small & mixed animal general practices, as well as our UrgentVet Pet Clinics, which bridge the gap between daytime general practice and overnight emergency care.
Our home office is based in Tampa, Florida and we have hospital locations across six states in the South, including Florida, Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma, and the Carolinas.
AVG is great about offering opportunities for continuing education and mentorship. One of our staff’s pets needed his spleen removed and none of the doctors at our hospital knew how to perform the surgery. Our Chief Medical Officer made the 7-hour drive to our hospital with two hours’ notice to scrub in and show us how to perform the surgery. The tumor was benign and the dog is doing fantastic!
American Veterinary Group has given me the opportunity to work on my business management and leadership skills. In my position, I get to work with a great staff and we are constantly working on way to improve the business and ourselves. It has been a great learning experience for me.
My role as a new graduate veterinarian working in an urgent care setting has pushed me to be more confident in my knowledge base and skill set at an accelerated pace. AVG set me up with great mentorship during my training period that supported exponential growth in my first few months with the company. I am now much more efficient in managing my time and independently managing several cases at a time without compromising patient care and client communication.
