Relief Staffing Specialist

What I do at American Veterinary Group

As a Talent Acquisition Partner, I specialize in connecting exceptional veterinarians with opportunities that align with their career goals while helping practices build outstanding medical teams. I recruit independent relief veterinarians as well as full-time and part-time doctors across both urgent care and general practice settings.

I partner closely with veterinary professionals at every stage of their careers, from new graduates to experienced clinicians, taking the time to understand their goals, preferred practice styles, and scheduling needs. Whether a doctor is looking for flexible relief work or a long-term career opportunity, my focus is on creating meaningful matches that benefit both the veterinarian and the practice.

I work with Fear Free Certified teams that are committed to reducing stress and improving the experience for pets, clients, and veterinary professionals alike. I am passionate about supporting practices that prioritize high-quality medicine, compassionate patient care, and positive workplace cultures.

Building lasting relationships is at the heart of what I do. I strive to make the hiring process transparent, efficient, and personalized, helping veterinarians find opportunities where they can thrive while ensuring practices have the talented clinicians they need to provide exceptional care.

Who am I?

With more than eight years of recruiting experience, I've had the opportunity to build relationships across several industries, including human healthcare, bilingual manufacturing recruitment, and now veterinary medicine. While each field has been unique, one thing has remained constant: my passion for connecting great people with meaningful career opportunities.

I earned my bachelor's degree in Marketing from California Polytechnic State University, but I quickly discovered that my true passion lies in human resources and talent acquisition. I enjoy getting to know people, understanding what motivates them, and helping them find roles where they can grow, make an impact, and genuinely enjoy their work.

One of the most rewarding experiences of my career was living in Mexico, where I owned and operated an English teaching business. That experience strengthened my appreciation for different cultures, communication styles, and the importance of building authentic relationships. Today, I bring that same people-first mindset into every conversation I have with candidates and hiring managers.

Whether I'm recruiting relief veterinarians, full-time clinicians, or helping practices grow their teams, my goal is always the same: to create thoughtful, lasting connections that are a great fit for everyone involved.

Advice for prospective candidates

One piece of advice I always share with candidates comes from my own career journey. I didn't start in veterinary medicine, yet it has become my favorite industry to recruit in. My path has taken me through healthcare, manufacturing, education, and now veterinary medicine, and each experience has reinforced the same lesson: if you stay true to who you are and remain open to learning, you can build a fulfilling and successful career in any industry.

Your skills, values, and passion matter more than following a perfectly linear path. When you find an organization that aligns with who you are, that's where you'll do your best work—and that's exactly the kind of connection I strive to help people make every day.
