Stage 1

Application Review

Once we have received your application for an externship, we will review your resume and clinical interests, as well as the hospital team's availability to host you during your desired externship blocks.

Stage 2

Externship Offer Letter

If the hospital is available to host you during your desired dates, we will send you an externship offer letter for you to review and sign.

Stage 3

Externship Confirmation

Once your signed offer letter has been returned, we will confirm your externship and send you calendar invites for your externship dates with the practice.

Stage 4

Your First Day

Prior to the first day of your externship, the Practice Manager at the hospital at which you are externing will reach out to you to coordinate the details of your first day. They will set your schedule and match you up with your mentor veterinarian.

Stage 5

Externship Feedback Survey

We love to hear feedback from our externs to ensure that we continue to provide a positive and educational experience for students. Once you have completed your externship, we will be in touch to hear from you regarding your experience with the team. We will also be available to answer any questions that you have about opportunities for employment with AVG & UrgentVet.
